Fairy Garden

Located outside the center of Budapest, in the middle of a forest, we find a place of communion that was born as a result of repression and social exclusion. Fanni, a 19-year-old trans woman, and Laci, a 60-year-old homeless man, share this place. Where they sleep, where they live, where they grow - and survive - together. Fairy Garden, a documentary by Gergő Somogyvári, echoes the gestures of love that emerge from this chosen family. A tender portrait that follows the different movements of each of these people over several years. This film shows us the true root of the connection between individuals, leading the audience to experience a spectrum of strong emotions: from the most sublime to the most heartbreaking. A cycle of life in a garden where there are no illusions but where the truth of the light (the hope we seek) remains strong and will endure emotionally even when this physical and material place disappears. The screening of Fairy Garden is the result of collaboration with the Verzió Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, and the film was the winner of the audience award at the 20th edition of the festival.
