Cinema Passos Manuel
Passos Manuel is a mythic place in the alternative and artistic circuit in Porto, it counts with an exclusive and unique program, where one can mix the feeling of the dark cinema room with the cosmopolitanism of the vibe of Porto’s nightlife.
One of the oldest cinema rooms in town, Cinema Trindade reflorished with the re-opening in 2017, bringing back cinema to the city center. Ever since, one can watch the best indie and author cinema here, as well as the coolest cinema festivals and special screenings with special guests.
Casa das Artes
Designed by Pritzker Architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, Henrique Alves Costa cinema room at Casa das Artes, is unique with its gardens. Since 2013, one can count on regular cinema screenings, curated by Cineclube do Porto with the support of DRCN.
The place where it all started, being the festival headquarters, main information center and a meeting point for all festival goers. OKNa – From Proto-Slavic *okъno (“window”) – is a cultural center dedicated to providing artistic programming, residencies and educational projects while establishing a close cooperation between Eastern Europe and Portugal. Engaging with artists, researchers, and other cultural actors, the space celebrates CEE as an invaluable source of contemporary culture, researching and curating the New East.
Livraria Térmita / Café Candelabro
Térmita is installed in an area previously occupied by a wood warehouse, adjacent to Café Candelabro. The original Candelabro was a bookshop, but since 2009 it was one of the forerunners of the evening drink in Porto, functioning as a café, art gallery, wine shop and bookstore.
OpenBox is a Cultural and Artistic association with the main goal of developing activities focused on integrated personal development. The art-therapy is a central pillar of the activities created with a wide public in mind, from children to the elderly, with intervention also focused on help-seekers.
The festival is set to be a safe space where all people regardless of race, gender, social background or sexual orientation can equally enjoy and participate in all events and the vibrant cultural life of Porto.
