The winners of BEAST International Film Festival 2017 competition categories were announced last night at Teatro Municipal Rivoli in the heart of Porto, Portugal. The big awards went to The Pit (Ukraine), Jazz Orgie (Russia, Germany) and The Test (Slovenia). Special jury mentions were handed out for Good Morning Transnistria (Moldova, Norway), Aquarius (Russia) and Red Light (Bulgaria).

The first edition of BEAST IFF showcased over 70 films from 23 countries with a total of 22 national premiere, 1 European premiere and 1 international premiere. The designated jury had to decide over 37 films within the competition, divided in 3 sections of fiction, documentary and experimental.
