An open discussion where filmmakers Anna Hints and Tushar Prakash will share insights of the themes, creative process, and storytelling behind their latest film Sauna Day. The talk will be moderated by Maria Mendes.

After four months in Porto, an artist duo embarks on a three month overland journey from Portugal to Estonia, hitchhiking across borders. Through film, they capture the landscapes,
the people they meet, and their own moments of rest and contemplation. This exhibition explores their quest for connection and belonging in a borderless Europe, reflecting on the union’s impact on both the journey and the travelers themselves. Curated by Xu Moru

This workshop, led by alumni of the Estonian Academy of Arts, invites you to explore storytelling through the creation and interpretation of arcane cards. Participants will discover various approaches to narrative, both traditional and experimental, fostering creativity and deepening their understanding of storytelling techniques.

What does it really take to collaborate with filmmakers across diverse cultural landscapes? And why do individuals dedicate themselves to organizing film festivals, from intimate local showcases to large-scale international events? This panel takes you into the dynamic, often unpredictable world of European film festival organizing.
We invite guest speakers representing festivals from Central and Eastern Europe, each offering their unique perspectives on the challenges and rewards of festival management.

LET’S TALK! QUEER CULTURE IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE

A recurrent panel exploring queer representation and storytelling in the region’s cultural landscape. This discussion will highlight the importance of sharing narratives of oppression and resilience, preserving a queer archive, and advocating for equality.

LET’S TALK! ROMA IN FILMMAKING

This exploration of Roma in filmmaking, in partnership with the Institute of Documentary Film, highlights the significant contributions of Roma filmmakers and producers from both local and international contexts. The talk presents their unique perspectives and storytelling techniques, offering insight into the rich and diverse narratives they bring to contemporary cinema.

Explore an immersive artistic installation by in collaboration with TRAKT. This exhibition blends interactive narratives and experimental soundscapes, featuring video art, sound,
