Paula Guerra
Paula Guerra is associate professor of sociology at the University of Porto, Portugal, and researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the same university. Guerra is adjunct associate professor of the Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research in Australia. She is founder/coordinator of the Network All the Arts: Luso-Afro-Brazilian Network of the Sociology of Culture and the Arts. Guerra is the founder/coordinator of the KISMIF (kismifconference.com), co-coordinator of the Research Network of Sociology of Art of ESA and chair of IASPM Portugal. Guerra is a leading international scholar on the topics of sociology of culture, of youth and arts. Based at University of Porto, Portugal, Guerra has consolidated worldwide partnerships and research networks. Guerra has been a visiting professor at numerous international universities. She is a member of the editorial council of several national and international journals, as well as editor and reviewer of several articles and books on a national and international level. Guerra is founding co-editor-in-chief of the Sage journal DIY, Alternative Cultures and Society (2023-) and the Bloomsbury Academic Series ‘Critical Studies in Do-it Yourself Cultures’.
Tudor Cristian Jurgiu
Born in Medias, Romania, in 1984. He studied Film Directing in Bucharest at UNATC. He then received an MA and is now about to finish his PhD diploma. OLI’S WEDDING, his first short film won various awards such as: Best Fiction Short at Leeds IFF, Best Short Film at Anonimul IFF, Best Romanian Film at Next IFF. His MA short, IN THE FISHBOWL, was awarded third prize at the Cannes Cinefondation Competition in 2013. It went on to win Best Short in Zagreb FF and was in competition at Uppsala FF, among others. THE JAPANESE DOG is his feature debut, which premiered at San Sebastian Film Festival, New Directors 2013. It also won the Best Film Award at Vilnius FF and the First Feature Award at Warsaw FF. It was in competition in New Directors New Films in New York, and many others. His third feature ON OUR OWN, premiered in Berlinale Forum 2026 where it won the CICAE distribution award.
João Terras
João Terras (1993) is a contemporary art curator. Since 2025, he has been Head of Programmes and curator at Galeria Municipal do Porto. From 2019 to 2025, he served as Assistant Artistic Director and Producer at CIAJG – Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães. In 2023, Programming Coordinator at the School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto and Production Director of the Portuguese Pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale.
He is the editor and editorial coordinator of several publications, including: Interminável, Artur Barrio (SMAK–CIAJG, 2025), and the Coleção Cadernos de Artista CIAJG (CIAJG, 2020–2024), featuring Fernão Cruz, Sara Maldoror, Yonamine, Francisca Carvalho, Priscila Fernandes, Rodrigo Hernandez, Dayana Lucas, and Isabel Carvalho (Mousse Publishing – GMP, 2026).
