WHY FILM FESTIVALS MATTER
6 Jun | 16h00 | CAFÉ BAR – BATALHA CENTRO DE CINEMA
WHY FESTIVALS MATTER? For a few days each year, film festivals bring people together around cinema. They introduce new films and filmmakers, create opportunities for encounters, and offer a different way of experiencing culture within the city.
This informal discussion brings together representatives from Sunny Bunny Film Festival (Ukraine), ŻUBROFFKA International Short Film Festival (Poland), Porto Femme International Film Festival, and BEAST International Film Festival to talk about what festivals do, who they are for, and why they continue to hold a special place in the cultural life of their communities.
Participants:
Krzysztof Sienkiewicz (Zubroffka)
Bohdan Zhuk (Sunny Bunny)
Rita Capucho (Porto Femme)
Moderated by Radu Sticlea (BEAST – Head of Festival)
