QUEER PROGRAMME: highlights
SCREENING - SUNNY BUNNY | PERFORMANCE NIGHT - MOFO COLLECTIVE (fundraiser)
How to Care for Cosmos: the section dedicated to queer cinema flourishes every edition, keeping the festival’s curatorial (and political and emotional) landscape connected to its – and our – roots, to its – and our – reality: above all, to its – and our – desires and hopes. This year, BEAST reinforces its collaboration with SUNNY BUNNY, Kyiv’s first queer film festival.
Part of its parallel events, BEAST hosts a performance night, curated by MOFO collective, which will present MY DISLOCATED FLESH at CRL – Central Eléctrica.
Bringing together works by emerging filmmakers and artists, the program offers the public and the student community the opportunity to discover new perspectives on contemporary cinema from Central and Eastern Europe, creating a space for encounter and solidarity through art.
HOW TO CARE FOR COSMOS | SUNNY BUNNY
In collaboration with Sunny Bunny, BEAST presents a screening that brings together new voices in Ukrainian queer cinema. Across five works, themes ranging from love in times of war to resistance and queer expression are explored, reflecting the diversity of forms and voices emerging in a context marked by conflict.

MY DISLOCATED FLESH | PERFORMANCE NIGHT
MOFO Collective, focused on performative creation and composed of queer Ukrainian people based in Porto, and BEAST join forces to present MY DISLOCATED FLESH: an event that brings together queer and experimental artists whose works start from the body to explore pain, resistance, vulnerability, and survival.
The initiative will take place on June 5th, between 8 pm and 11 pm, at the Black Box of CRL – Central Elétrica, and combines performance, sound, and multimedia art in a fundraising action to benefit the Ukrainian organization Insight NGO, which provides essential support to the LGBTIQ+ community through shelters, legal assistance, psychological support, and other fundamental resources.
This performance night will feature several guest artists, including: Boji Ro, Sasha Malyuk, Dïmmï, calgon, Mariia Lemperk, 2rana 3crana, and Marie Dior. Entry will be by donation, with a suggested minimum contribution of 5 euros. All proceeds will be entirely donated to Insight NGO.
